How does the conveyancing process work?

Conveyancing is the legal process of transferring property ownership from one person to another. This is a crucial element of buying or selling a house and any mistakes can have serious long-term implications. The day you buy is the day you sell.

The processes involved can be complicated and getting them right is important.  It is important to use a trusted, experienced professional, with a history of handling conveyancing matters to deal with your property purchase or sale.

How long will the conveyancing process take?

There is no set time limit for a conveyancing process, as every sale or purchase is different. The more complex the process is, the longer it can take, but typically the residential conveyancing process takes between 8-12 weeks from a solicitor being instructed. If there is a motivated buyer and seller then these timelines can be reduced.

How much are residential conveyancing fees?

Selling a property is typically less costly than buying one. Our fees cover all of the work required to complete the purchase. We would be happy to provide a fixed fee quote without obligation in most cases.

Who will handle the conveyancing process for me?

Our residential conveyancing team is headed up by Gordon Roe

Gordon has extensive experience in dealing with property related matters, including buying and selling freehold and leasehold property, transfer of equity transactions, and re-mortgages.
